Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement that covers all of Waterloo Region.

The forecast for Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) levels for June 28 are in the High Risk (7 to 10) range.  The government of Canada’s Air Quality Health Index Message is below as per a high-risk index.

We will be keeping students inside for all recesses when the index is in the HIGH range.

We are currently looking for a lunch hour supervisor for 2023-24! Please see below for more information.

• Ensure the safety and security of students during the lunch period

• 18 years of age or over;

• Canadian citizen with Social Insurance Number or valid work permit are eligible to work in Canada

• Be able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check document (i.e., police check)

• Experience working with children

• Willingness to assume a wide variety of duties

• Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with students, parents, staff and the general public

• Ability to work as a team player

• Current First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.

Salary Range: $22.20 – $23.46 per hour, Level 1 (Compensation Grid effective September 1, 2021)

Due to the expected inclement weather conditions the Jr. Girls and Boys 3-Pitch Tournaments are cancelled today.  The new rain date is Tuesday, June 20th.

CNE 2023 School Kids Pass

As the school year is coming to an end, we are getting closer to the 2023 Canadian National Exhibition! We are pleased to have received your elementary school board’s approval to share this year’s 2023 kids pass link! The CNE is honored to extend an invitation to elementary school kids 13 and under to attend this year’s CNE with free admission.

We are happy to let you know that our downloadable Kids Pass for the 2023 CNE is ready for distribution. This pass can be downloaded and scanned on a smartphone at the gate or printed.

Below is the link to our 2023 CNE school Kids Pass that can be used any one day of the CNE from August 18^th to September 4^th, 2023, for kids aged 13 and under. Children 4 and under are free and will not need the pass.

A good Educational Assistant and Child & Youth Care Worker must be friendly in nature, patient, and sensitive towards the needs of children they support. It is with your support, your dedication to our students, and your commitment to the success of each child, that helps our students and school be successful.  The growth that we see in our students is not measured each day, but each year, and when we reflect on our students who need your support most, the growth we see across their school careers is amazing – and it is because of you!

THANK YOU for all that you do to make our schools safe places where our students have an opportunity to learn, grow, feel valued, achieve their full potential, and for always being that much needed support for all of us as a staff!  It truly takes a special person to do what you do and we all know that without you…….we just couldn’t do it!
