Welcome Back Flames!
On behalf of the entire staff at OLOL, we extend a warm welcome back from the March Break. Whether you spent your break relaxing with family, exploring new places, or enjoying new activities and passions, we hope you had an enjoyable and memorable time. As we return to school, let’s carry the positive energy and enthusiasm from our break into our classrooms and beyond!
School News:
NUT FREE Policy
A reminder that Our Lady of Lourdes is a NUT FREE school. This means that any product that contains ANY TYPE of nut cannot come to school. THIS INCLUDES NUTELLA which is a chocolate hazelnut spread. Please help us keep everyone safe at school by keeping all nut products at home.
Student Pick up & Drop Off
We understand that there are times when students need to be dropped off or picked up throughout the school day. Please remember to contact the classroom teacher or the main office if you will be picking your child up prior to the end of the school day. When picking or dropping students off at the main doors, we ask all families to please remain at the front door or in the front foyer. If your child needs assistance getting to their classroom a staff member will happily assist.
Upcoming Teams/Clubs
A HUGE thank you to all the staff helping to run and coach the extra curricular activities coming up.
On the horizon we have:
- Folk Dance
- Boys Development Team Bball Tournament
- Girls Development Team Vball Tournament
- Intermediate Co-Ed Soccer
- Cross Country
- Boys and Girls Junior 3-Pitch Tournament
- Games Club (lunch recess)
- Zentangle Club (lunch recess)
- Maker Space (lunch recess)
- Reading Club (pm recess)
- One-ball Dodgeball (pm recess)
Be sure to ask your child(ren) if they are involved in any of these activities. We are a school who are very lucky to be offering as many activities as we do. Thank you!
Spring is Coming!
With changing and warmer temperatures brings rain and melted snow. The field conditions at school can be very muddy. At times students may be asked to stay off the fields and play on the asphalt, but the majority of the days we enjoy using the field and we are lucky to have Mr. Elsegood who is patient when we (and a trail of mud) come inside!
This is a good time of year to remind you that students need to have a pair of indoor running shoes at school to change into. We would encourage students to wear splash pants and boots and bring extra clothing to school (i.e. socks, pants, etc.). This will eliminate the need to call home if clothes do get muddy. Thanks so much for your patience and cooperation!
